Deps Highslider 172
The Deps Highsider 172 Swimbait is a product of inspiration - after watching dace flee from bass at iconic Ikehara Dam in Japan, Deps crafted this innovative bait to accurately replicate the shape, tail swing and motion of baitfish. Employing an improved 4-piece ABS hollow body, it boasts an adjusted joint angle, weight balance, and shape, enabling the user to regulate its flexible action via the first joint.
Equipped with a detachable polycarbonate lip operated by pushing a release lever, the Deps Highsider 172 can dive underwater and generate powerful action, while providing resilient collision protection and evasion capability. When the lip is taken off, the Highsider acts much like a wakebait, as its responsive body agitates the water, generating a fleeing wave on the surface just like baitfish do.
The exceptionally slim elastomer tail provides an attractive addition that drastically maximizes the lifelike feel by limiting the oscillation of the tail and inciting an enticingly sinuous motion across the mid-section. Its adaptability for a deep-crank or surface presentation is bolstered by two sharply-pointed treble hooks of reduced size that constrain tail swing and guarantee success when targeting larger predators.
